“Paradise is always where love dwells.”
As I look around the world today, I don’t see much love in it. Between partners in intimate relationship, there is a lot of unhappiness, strife, blaming and discord.
Why is that??
I believe that it is time in our evolution for a new vision of love and we need new skills, attitudes and beliefs as well.
What do we need in order to navigate a new world of love?
First we need to see what is possible. We need to look beyond the lens of what we have now that feels discordant, unhappy or unfulfilling. Many are wondering if this is all there is to real love and partnership, or if there in fact might be something more?”
The answer is a resounding YES. There is much more possible for intimate partnership on planet earth and even though we see it infrequently in modern life, we need to start living as if it’s already there waiting for us.
A new world of love is just waiting for us to step into it and live beyond what has been up until now.
So what does this new world of love look like? There is no easy answer to this. We are evolving it as we speak and breathe. But let’s take a look at what that world might be.
The phrase that I like best for the possibility of intimate partnership, coined by David Deida is intimate communion. This is a lovely reference for the possibility of partnership beyond what we’ve had before.
This suggests that there is a higher, deep and more spiritual aspect to our vision of love. That might be because what we’ve had on the earthly plane has sufficed until now, but clearly won’t sustain us in the future. Relationships have been functional and utilitarian but often we are missing the energy, vibrancy and passion that exists beyond the confines of ordinary reality.
Clearly change is in the air.
A new vision of love needs to encompass all that we have been before, but elevate us to our next level of evolution, and in order to ‘arrive, even though it’s not a real destination, we need some stories to give us the framework for our journey. These will be shared in upcoming blog posts.
For now I will say that the world of love and intimate partnership is not working as it is. Many people feel blocked, stuck, dead or wishing for more but not knowing where to find it. I myself am certain that there is much more to life and love than this, and I personally hope that you, like I, are on a journey of discovery to find out exactly what that is.
It is time for a new vision of love on planet earth, one that incorporates true heart, sharing and real love, not the fake kind that evaporates in an instant. It is not instant oatmeal, but the long cooking version.
